ALMOND, CASTOR, AVOCADO, AND COCONUT | Oil Cleansing 101

Ditch the traditional way of cleansing your skin and switch to oil cleansing. Oil cleansing is arguable the most effective way to cleanse your skin naturally as it is can be beneficial to everyone regardless of your particular skin type. When used directly unto skin, oils as a cleanser eliminates impurities by surfacing dirt and allowing them to be easily rinsed away baring softer, hydrated and glowing skin.

So How Does The Oil Cleansing Method Work?

The oil cleansing method is pretty simple however if you are new to the technique it may take a couple of tries to figure out what blend of oils works best for your skin. Using Jojoba Oil as a base, I personally mix Almond, Castor, Avocado and Coconut oil together in an applicator bottle and shake to combine oils together. I apply the oil mixture all over my face, massaging it using circular motions for about a minute. After coating a clean rag with warm water, I place it directly over my face and allow to steam. Once the rag becomes cold again, I slowly wipe away the oils off of my face.

Still Not Convinced? Let Me Explain Further……

According to chemistry, oil cleansing works as a result of the “like dissolves like” theory. In other words when you cleanse your skin using oils, essentially what your doing is dissolving and wiping away all the  excess oil and unwanted dirt from your face and replenishing it with clean, nourishing oils.

What Oils Are Best Are Best For Oil Cleansing And What Are The Benefits?

ALMOND OIL – is an all-natural oil that is superior in nourishing and reviving any skin type. This natural skin-nourishing oil is easily absorbed and and won’t clog your pores, promoting clear, soft, healthy skin. Castor oil also promotes hair growth, conditions and thickens hair and prevents premature graying.

AVOCADO OIL – is an all-natural oil that is superior in hydrating and moisturizing the skin. It’s ability to absorb deeply into the skins layers makes it an excellent skin repairing agent. The high-level of vitamin E found in avocado oil also helps to protect the skin from inflammation and softness. Avocado oil also has great ant-aging  properties capable of providing protection against free radicals.

COCONUT OIL – is one of the superior oils available that promotes beautiful youthful skin. In addition to its superior hydrating properties, coconut also aids in healing and rejuvenation of the skin’s collagen. HERE ARE FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND…….

RATE: You can use the oil- cleansing method at whatever consistency you like. I prefer to do it at night right before bed for optimal results.

THEREAFTER: After using the oil cleansing method, I don’t feel the immediate need to follow up with a moisturizer however, because I’ve battled dry skin in past I sometimes will follow up with a small amount of moisturizer after oil cleansing just to be on the safe side. But lets face it, everyone’s skin is not the same, the most important thing is to know your skin’s needs, if you do not feel the immediate need to use a moisturizer after oil cleansing then there is no need.

  1. This is a great post! I starting using coconut oil as part of my cleansing ritual and I love the difference it makes in my skin. I even use it as a body lotion right when I come out of the shower and it absorbs quickly!
